GarageTCS (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the GarageTCS app. This policy explains our data practices.

PERSONAL DATA
We do not collect any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials. The app does not require user registration or login.

LOCAL DATA STORAGE
The app stores your lighting presets, device settings, and preferences locally on your device using standard app storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

BLUETOOTH USAGE
The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) exclusively to communicate with compatible lighting hardware (ambient light controllers and starlight systems). Bluetooth device information (device names and identifiers) is stored locally on your device only. No Bluetooth data is shared with third parties.

LOCATION PERMISSION (ANDROID)
On Android devices, the operating system requires location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. This is a technical requirement of the Android platform. We do not access, collect, store, or track your location data in any way.

APP UPDATES AND PLATFORM SERVICES
This app uses Expo, a third-party development platform, to deliver over-the-air (OTA) app updates. The Expo platform automatically collects certain technical data to provide this service:

• Device identifiers (installation ID)
• App version and platform information
• Crash logs (if the app crashes)
• Basic app performance diagnostics

This data is:
• Collected automatically by the Expo platform
• Used solely for delivering app updates and monitoring app stability
• Encrypted during transmission (HTTPS)
• Subject to Expo’s privacy policy (https://expo.dev/privacy)

We do not have direct access to individual user data collected by Expo.

ANALYTICS & ADVERTISING
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services beyond the Expo platform services described above. We do not display ads or collect data for marketing purposes.

DATA DELETION
You can delete all locally stored app data at any time:
1. Open the GarageTCS app
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap “Clear App Data” or “Factory Reset”
4. Confirm the deletion

This removes all presets, device settings, and preferences from your device.

DATA SECURITY
All data transmitted between the app and Expo’s servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Local data is stored in standard app storage on your device.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated revision date.
